May in Ukraine
Hello, dear friends
I want to share with you the news that has been happening in the ministry and in my life over the past month. As usual, there were many events and meetings, and a lot of God in them.
In early May, all new staff (who have been in the mission about 2 years) and interns of our mission had training at the UETS seminary near Kyiv. It was a whole week of training, from morning to evening we had lectures on the topic of the New Testament Review and Soteriology (theological teaching about the redemption and salvation of man). This time is an opportunity not only to hear something new, but also to communicate with staffs from other cities of Ukraine, to share their experience of ministry, challenges and joys. Personally, it inspires me very much, I am so interested in hearing about what God is doing through different people and teams.
While I was in Kyiv, I had time to visit my former team, Campus Kyiv Center, for an event. I remembered my years there, hugged friends, and met new volunteers and students.
After the English club, God gave us the opportunity to continue our collaboration with an American woman, Stephanie, who became a missionary and moved to Odessa a year ago. It is very nice that she invites us and the students we influence to her house, so we can spend time together even more informally, get closer, and a big bonus is practice English.
Stephanie also helped us and led a group for spiritually interested and newly foolowing to Christ students on the topic of "Relationships with God." It is such a blessing to have people with whom you can unite and serve God together, becoming even more effective.
Now is the time when our volunteers will be responsible for the ministry for a whole month. They will plan events and involve students who have repented during the year. This is a period of growth and responsibility for them, as well as an opportunity for us to search for partners and finances for the next year of ministry (years are counted as academic years at Campus).
I ask you to pray for them and this period, as well as for me and my disciples, who have become new interns in our mission, so that we can raise all the necessary support. By the way, about my disciple-girls, our mission can transfer staffs or interns to other cities if necessary. Starting September, Halya will be part of the team in Lviv, and Lisa will be in my previous Kyiv Center team. For me, this is both happy and sad news at the same time. I understand the need in those cities, and I believe that the girls will be reinforcements there, but it's a pity to let them go, because I really loved each of them.
But God is good, and at the end of the semester He gave me a new disciple, Vika. She is a new follower Christ, and now I am trying to help her grow spiritually and strengthen her faith. We continue to meet with her every week. Please pray for her to join the church and be assured of salvation. She is also already taking on small responsibilities at events and joining our volunteers.
Last week I went to the German Embassy in Moldova and applied for a visa to join our mission's regional conference in Berlin in July. Now I will wait for the result, there should be an answer within 2 weeks.
Prayer needs:
* thanksgiving to God for studying and time in Kyiv
* thanksgiving to God for Stephanie and her ministry in Ukraine, you can pray for our further cooperation and the fruits of ministry
* for the summer semester and the team of volunteers responsible for it (leaders Karina and Danya)
* for Vika, joining the church, confidence in salvation and her strengthening in faith
* for the relocation of my disciples Halya and Lisa (finding housing, new team and other challenges)
* raise support Gali, Lisa and Tanya for the ministry, as well as my personal
* a visa to Germany for me
* also in early June, I plan to go to the wedding of my friend and our staff from Kyiv Elisso in Albania, so I would be grateful for your prayers for the visit there
Thank you dear friends for praying, asking, worrying and rejoicing with me
I appreciate each and every one of you💖
Thank you for your post. It was very informative and heartfelt. You are being so faithful to the Lord. Stephanie sounds like a blessing from the Lord. You mentioned some new volunteers who need to raise finances? Could you send us their names so that we can contact them?
